CROSSROADS - DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE?

It may seem an extraordinary thing that
Almighty God should permit the use of an
execution method by the Roman Empire as the
means whereby his son Jesus Christ was killed
after a biased and unjust trial, but this is exactly
what took place over 2000 years ago.

In recent years there has been much discussion about the point and impact of
THE CROSS at Calvary. To help us understand its meaning, purpose and role,
this year’s Bible week speaker, Tony Baker will be joining us from April 3rd to
10th to speak on this major topic.
Tony, married to Margaret with two sons and four grandchildren, studied at
Oxford, began his ministry as a clergyman there and went on to work near
London and in Bristol before his last parish which was Bishop Hannington
memorial church, Hove, next to Brighton in Sussex, UK.

Tony has preached and taught at a variety of conferences and conventions
(including several visits to Keswick) and in a number of countries, including
Southern Africa, India and Pakistan. Now in retirement, he lectures in Biblical
Theology at the Sussex Coast Ministry Training Course in Eastbourne, where he
and Margaret live. He and Margaret love the British countryside and walking
in it, with Sussex, Shetland and Dartmoor topping the list. They also work hard
in their garden – Margaret grows the vegetables & Tony does the rest as well
as making some time for supporting …….. Arsenal football Club!
