Adult baptisms by immersion in the Rhein

Location: Only 1.5km downstream from church near the ‘Wasserwerk Am Staad’, Lohauser Deich 9, 40474 Düsseldorf, that is the path on the dike to Kaiserswerth. Have a look on the map here!

On Sunday, July 31st, 2011 the three candidates Athitaya, Marc and Oliver will be baptised by full immersion in the Rhein. This is the culmination of thought, prayer and study for each of them. During the service by the riverside they will each give a very short testimony about why they have decided to make this public profession of following Jesus Christ.

Come and support their witness to Christ! This 11am service by the riverside will be simple and reasonably short and all ages are invited to attend. Please note that there will be no normal service at Christ Church on this Sunday. Photography is permitted.

Wear good shoes or boots as we shall stand on the shingle beach by the edge of the river. By all means bring a folding chair, stool or blanket. If it looks like rain showers then bring an umbrella or light raincoat, but you can pray that God will grant us good weather!

Car parking is available in the area near to the ‘Wasserwerk Am Staad’ and the walk to the riverside takes about 5-8 minutes. Please try to be by the riverside by about 10.50am. Would all those with MPVs call first at Christ Church and collect anyone who has come by public transport or on foot. Many thanks. It is hoped to serve coffee and simple refreshments at the close of the service.

During the week before you might like to find a card and write in it your good wishes with a Bible verse to give to Oliver and the couple Athitaya and Marc.
