Powerhouse

The Sunday School was relaunched under its new name "Powerhouse" at the start of the new academic year 2009/2010 with brand new names for all the groups. "Powerhouse" refers to the whole of Sunday School. The other group names are listed below. The central idea behind all the names is that Jesus is in us, giving us power and light.

The programme that we continue to follow is called "Click", and consists of Bible stories and memory verses dealing with a theme over 10 weeks. These are geared to the different ages of the children. The main learning point of the lesson is reinforced through games, questions, discussion, visual aids, fun, acting, craft, puppets … you name it, we use it! All of us in the church hall are learning spiritual truths and how to apply them  – and having a blast!

Our heart as teachers is to introduce the children to Jesus and see them meet Him, and get to know and love Him. In the process we grow too! And it’s our secret mission as teachers to make Powerhouse so good that the children are nagging their parents to come to church on a Sunday!

We are understanding of children whose first language is not English, and want to do as much as we can to make all the children feel relaxed and welcome, so that parents can participate in the services.
