Why Our Church
Welcome, in the name of Christ, to Christ Church Düsseldorf. The door is open for you here: wherever you come from, whatever language you speak, whether you have been a Christian all your life, or you are completely new to Christian faith. You are very welcome to worship and serve Christ with us, as part of a Christian family.
We are:
A Christian Church
The most important person in our church is Jesus Christ. He is in charge, through his word; he is with us, through his Spirit; and everything we do revolves around him.
An International Church
Our family includes people of more than twenty five different nationalities, from Europe, Britain, Africa, India, Asia, North America, and South America, united by our love for Christ.
A Catholic Church
We believe the great facts that have always been believed by all Christians, and are laid down in the historic creeds: that there is only one God who lives eternally as threepersons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that Jesus Christ is one person, fully God and fully man.
A Reformed Church
We hold to the great truths of the Protestant Reformation: that scripturealone is the supreme authority in the church, and reveals that we are saved by grace alonethrough faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.
An Evangelical Church
We are here to share with all people the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to call all people to follow him. Our worship is focused on teaching the Bible and proclaiming the Gospel.
An Anglican Church
We belong to the Church of England, and the diocese of Europe. Our worship is based on the traditional liturgy of the Church of England, in modern English. The Church of England’s confession of faith is the Thirty Nine Articles of Religion; we uphold this and the Jerusalem Declaration of the Gafcon movement. We are supported in this by our patrons, the Church Society.
We look forward to meeting you.
