Church Outreach and Welcome Party Grand Depart

Those of you who have made it to Church recently will have heard announcements of our Outreach Party

This coming Saturday from 1.30 until late in the afternoon

on the occasion of the Tour de France, Individual Time Trial, which will happen right on CCD door step.

The individual time trial event will start at 1.45 with a “Werbekarawane” and this will soon be followed by the individual cyclists, c 3.15. There will be parties throughout town, for example further down the Rotterdamer Strasse, at the Wassersportverein, just as an example.

We do not want to miss the opportunity to be there, cheering, when Christ Church is right on the spot of the START and FINISH line! So we will be there, selling – at a small charge – refreshments such as soft drinks, cakes and scones and hopefully enjoying some live music.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the North Park, Christ Church will for once be surrounded by life and ramp light. What an opportunity to show that Christ Church not only is a pretty building but a living and welcoming Church. We from the Church family therefore want to be available to speak to anyone among the spectators who perhaps come onto the Church grounds curious about our Church or what we believe. For this, there will be flyers available to hand out.

It should be a fun afternoon with a purpose, and we urge you, this time, please if you can make it at all, despite the road closure, do come and support, and enjoy an afternoon together at this exciting time.

We would also like to urge you to hold all this up in prayer to our Lord, praying for safety, decent weather and a good atmosphere resulting in good conversations, with the name of Jesus at the center.

Info regarding getting here: You will need to travel by public transport (U79/78) or find car parking west of Kaiserswerther Strasse. There is pedestrian access to Rotterdamer Strasse from Reeser Platz and the Weisse Siedlung, and there is access to Christ Church grounds not only from the front gate, but the back gate which is situated in the North Park corner with the fish pond and flower beds.
